Research and Development

Research and development at DKK anticipates the needs of the marketplace setting its sights at all times on the next generation. In our research and development activities, we always seek to maintain close engagement with our customers and with academic institutions. These are some of our research and development initiatives.

LTE-Advanced

LTE is a new type of cellular phone communications standard, and the service has begun in December 2010 by NTT DOCOMO. It is a further evolution beyond the current third-generation cellular phone method aiming to provide high-speed telecommunications of more than 100 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink that is currently in the process of being standardized. DKK is currently making solid progress in the development of products which are compliant with LTE.

MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output)

MIMO is wireless technology that broadens data sending and receiving bandwidths through the use of multiple antennas serving as transceiving antennas. Bandwidth is increased and a larger volume of data can be transmitted at one time by simultaneously transmitting different pieces of information using multiple antennas and synthesizing this information upon its reception. From the development of antenna systems to verification tests, DKK is pursuing research and development activities in this area.
